So I create another user account, go into parental controls on it, set some settings, then switch over the the important account, make changes, then switch back over to the "placeholder" account, thinking this will "save" the settings (since there is no "save" button for this) and then lock the window. You can set up custom parental controls for each child who will be using your Mac by adding separate user accounts. I ran disk first aid a couple of times, and this seemed to at least let some of the settings stick, but not the ones I need. ![]() So, I do it all again, this time logging out of the account near the end, coming back in and seeing still that the settings haven't stuck. What I have done in the past is to keep my current account on the machine. You don’t need discs, and in fact Macs don’t come with those anymore.īut in your case you are passing it on to another family member and you may want to do it differently.
